Why does the volume chart indicator not work on NIFTY or other Indices?

The volume chart displays the number of shares or contracts that are purchased and sold during a specific time frame. Since indices are not securities or contracts, they cannot be traded publicly. The only ways to trade indices are through futures or ETFs.

Volume data is missing and volume-based indicators cannot be added to the charts since there are no trades on the Indices.
